PALM SPRINGS, Calif. (CNS) -

Volunteers will clean bike trails in Palm Springs Sunday to launch several activities for Bike Month in the city.  Volunteers will meet at noon at the Demuth Park Community Center and are asked to bring rakes, shovels and other clean-up materials. Bins will be provided, organizers said.

The rest of the lineup:

Wednesday (5/7), 7 a.m.: Bike to School Day. Cielo Vista Elementary School students meet at Demuth Park to pedal to school. Palm Springs Cyclery will conduct bike safety checks and do adjustments.

Saturday (5/10), 8 a.m.: Bike Festival at Sunrise Park and Boys & Girls Club. A children's bike rodeo is planned.

May 12-16: Bike to Work Week. People are encouraged to pedal to work. 

The official bike to work day is May 16.

May 15, 6 p.m.: Palm Springs Cycledelic Full Moon Bike Ride. Cyclists will meet at the northwest corner of Tahquitz Canyon Way and Palm Canyon Drive and take a nighttime ride.
