The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in the Inland Empire fell three-tenths of a cent Wednesday to $4.09, its lowest amount since April 9.

The average price in Riverside and San Bernardino counties has fallen three of the past four days and is 2.1 cents less than one week ago and 11.1 cents lower than one month ago, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price  Information Service.  However, it is 13.9 cents more than one year ago.

The dropping pump prices stem from declining wholesale gasoline prices ``so now prices are doing what we would expect them to be doing when Southern California refineries are in full production mode for the summer,'' Marie Montgomery of the Automobile Club of Southern California told City News Service.
