LA QUINTA, Calif. -

A second-alarm fire broke out Saturday at a La Quinta apartment building but no injuries were reported, a Riverside County fire spokesman said.

Firefighters received a call at 10:51 a.m. and went to the 78000 block of Cobalt Drive,  where heavy smoke was seen coming from a lower-floor apartment.

The blaze was contained to an apartment and doused within an hour, county fire spokesman Mark Annas said.

A cause behind the fire was under investigation.
