Woman Nearly Drowns In Rancho Mirage

An elderly woman reportedly suffered mild to moderate injuries in a near-drowning Thursday in Rancho Mirage, a Riverside County Fire Department spokeswoman said.

Firefighters rushed to a location in the 30 block of Evening Star Drive at 4:46 p.m. after receiving a call about a drowning at a home near the Thunderbird Country Club, said spokeswoman Jody Hagemann.  They treated the woman at the scene, she said.
        "She was alert and conscious when she was transported to a hospital," Hagemann said.
