Woman: GPS led me into sand trap
Massachusetts police contend woman was driving drunk
A Massachusetts woman claims her GPS is to blame for driving her car into a sand trap on a golf course.
Police in Northbridge said Patricia Maione, 46, was driving drunk.
She was held on $10,000 bail after pleading not guilty to charges including driving with a suspended license and fourth offense drunken driving, the Worcester Telegram & Gazette reported.
Maione told police her GPS told her to turn left, which led her through a corn field and onto the Whitinsville Golf Club on Monday, according to The Associated Press.
There were golfers on the course at the time, but no one was hurt.
Police said Maione later admitted to drinking a half-liter of vodka that morning. They also said they found a cup filled with alcohol in Maione's car, the Telegram & Gazette reported.
