PALM SPRINGS, Calif. -

The Coachella Valley's first baby was born just after midnight at Desert Regional Medical Center. 

According to Richard Ramhoff, of Desert Regional Medical Center, 27 year old Natalie DeLaCruz, and Andy DeLaCruz of Indio, welcomed their daughter Aaliyah at 12:14 A.M.

Aliyah weighed in at 8 pounds and 14 ounces.  Ramhoff says the mother and baby are both doing fine.

John F. Kennedy Memorial Hospital, as of 11:30 A.M., reports that no baby has been born so far in 2013.
