(CNN) -- A police officer sacrificed his life for the sake of others, embracing a suicide bomber in Khost province, Afghanistan Saturday before the charge detonated, in order to dull the blast, eyewitnesses said. The bomb killed the officer and eight more people, and wounded two more, according to police.
