The Palm Desert Police Department is planning a DUI and driver's license checkpoint at an undisclosed location tonight and tomorrow night.
The checkpoint will operate from Friday night to Saturday morning and Saturday night to Sunday morning, 7 p.m. to 3 a.m.
It's aimed at reducing the number of people killed or injured on local roads by people driving under the influence of alcohol and drugs, Sgt. Dave Adams said.
The checkpoint is funded by a grant from the California Office of Traffic Safety through the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
