Summer Salsa Mambo Festival and Bachata Madness

CATHEDRAL CITY, Calif. -

A Cathedral City resort will host a weekend-long Latin dance festival.

The Summer Salsa Mambo Festival and Bachata Madness started Friday night at Doral Desert Princess Resort.

There will be workshops, including for children, and evening dance parties and performances through Monday at the resort.

Genres will include salsa, mambo, bachata, Afro-Cuban, Afro-samba, cha cha, Argentine tango, tango nuevo and Latin motion.

A Hawaiian luau will be held Saturday night.

The festival is produced and sponsored by Signal Hill-based DanceSport California, which offers training and education resources for dancers.
