In the battle against the bulge, a perfume maker claims to have a new secret weapon that may just help consumers smell their way to weight-loss victory.
Veld's Prends-Moi Eau De Minceur is being billed as the world's first slimming fragrance. It's filled with ingredients like caffeine, carnitine and spirulina extract that are involved in breaking down fat, the New York Daily News reported.
According to the manufacturer of Prends-Moi, the perfume's ingredients -- which include Betaphroline -- induce the release of B-endorphins when they come into contact with cells found in the outer layer of the skin, triggering a sensation of well-being in the brain that reduces cravings.
The company claims that the product reduces the need to snack by about 75 percent.
The Daily News reported that the scent has top notes of bergamot, mandarin and grapefruit, while the base notes of the perfume are a combination of musk, vanilla, patchouli and sandalwood.
Prends-Moi is being offered on the Veld's website for about $50.
