Riverside County Board of Supervisors Approves Marriage License Fee Increase
Riverside County supervisors have authorized the Assessor-Clerk-
Recorder's Office to hike the fees charged for marriage certificates,
fictitious business licenses and other county-issued documents to cover
operational costs. The increase now makes the cost of a public marriage license $90, up from $68. Confidential marriage licenses are now up from $76 to $100.
Supervisor John Benoit hopes people understand the cost will help the county recoup some of its losses. "You know, going back and looking, what is a reasonable fee to where we can maintain a requisite level of service. In the case of marriage licenses, most people will only need that once."
