Restaurant at Highway 111 and Monterey has been there for 47 years

PALM DESERT, Calif. -

The manager of the Palm Desert Denny's located on the corner of Highway 111 and Monterey Drive says the store has been closed. 

Restaurant general manager Julie Arguin says the landlord did not want to lease the location to a franchise store.  They served the last meals at lunch and closed just after 1pm Thursday. 

Arquin also says all 38 employees will be relocated to other restaurants in the valley.
