Local brewery set to bring new flavor to valley
The desert will soon have its own special brew. The Coachella Valley Brewing Company plans to open the doors to its Thousand Palms location soon, bringing something the desert's never seen.
To help create what he thought was missing, Humphrey teamed up with his wife, brew master Chris Anderson and a handful of investors to create the Coachella Valley Brewing Company. When it opens, it will be the first commercial brewery and tap room to call the desert home. While the valley has bars and taverns that serve unique craft beers, CVBC will bottle, can and sell its beer as far as Arizona. They take their name seriously, Anderson plans to use the best ingredients local farmers have to offer. "From kumquats, to dates, to fresh herbs," said Anderson. "So, it's definitely going to be something super unique, and it'll be a great way for us to promote the fact that the east valley is a huge agricultural area."
The brewery will also set itself apart by the equipment they use to make the beer. The team purchased a high-efficiency brewer, designed to use less water, energy, ingredients and time. Only three other breweries in the country use the same technology. "We want to be green because that's how everything's turning," said Humphrey. "We think that's a great story for everyone who's purchasing our beer."
"This system here can push out a 17 barrel batch, which equates to about 500 gallons in about 2 hours, which is about a third of the time that a normal brew house runs," said Anderson.
Numbers aside, this group of brave beer entrepreneurs simply want to pour a product in which customers can taste the difference. "I just hope they taste the passion and the love we put into everything we do here," said Anderson. "I think it will easily translate to the glass."
The Coachella Valley Brewing Company hopes to open by early May. For more information go to their Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/pages/Coachella-Valley-Brewing-Co/432901963394552
