Lake Isabella fire 35 percent contained, San Diego County fire 95 percent contained
U.S. Forest Service officials say a 300-acre fire near popular Lake Isabella is 35 percent contained and Highway 155 is open.
Forest Service spokeswoman Cindy Thill says Wednesday that 200 firefighters are battling the blaze and 200 more are on the way. Dozens of homes and a campground near Sequoia National Park have been evacuated.
The fire started Tuesday evening. No injuries have been reported.
In San Diego County on Wednesday, a 990-acre, 3-day-old wildfire near Campo is 95 percent contained and evacuated residents from 150 homes have been allowed to return.
Capt. Mike Mohler of the California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection says full containment is expected Wednesday night or Thursday morning.
One mobile home and one recreational vehicle were burned. Two minor firefighter injuries have been reported.
Causes for the two blazes are under investigation.
