Human bones found by hiker in hills south of Cabazon

Skeletal remains were discovered last week by a man who was hiking in the hills south of Cabazon.

The man was hiking on February 19th around 3 p.m. when he stumbled upon what he believed to be human bones. He contacted police and showed them his discovery. A coroner positively identified them as human remains.

Yesterday, February 26th, police performed a thorough investigation of the area with the assistance of police search dogs. The results of this investigation are yet to be released.

This investigation is ongoing and the identity attached to the skeletal remains has not been discovered.
