A man accused of committing as many as 1,000 burglaries in Maine now wants to make things right.

A lawyer for Christopher Knight, known as "North Pond Hermit," has established a fund to repay people who think they may have been his victims, according to The Associated Press. The restitution account has been set up and people who want to contribute to the fund can send donations to Walter McKee, Knight's lawyer.

Knight lived in the woods as a hermit for 27 years and stole food and other supplies. He was arrested earlier this month while allegedly breaking into a camp to steal food.
