Cahuilla Desert Academy in Coachella was locked down this morning while deputies investigated reports that a student had a gun and possibly threatened to commit suicide, a sheriff's spokesman said.
Authorities were contacted at around 9:10 a.m. and went to search the school at 82489 Avenue 52. Sheriff's Deputy Albert Martinez said there was a report of a student making a possible suicide threat and "secondhand" information that the student had a gun.
