A freight train derailed in southern Virginia on Saturday, derailing 15 CSX cars and sending four of them into the Russell Fork River.

No injuries were reported from the scene in Dickenson County, near Breaks Interstate Park, said state Trooper T.L. Neece.

The CSX train was heading from Hamlet, North Carolina, to Russell, Kentucky, with two locomotives and 64 freight cars, according to a company statement.

One of the cars, the only one reported to be leaking, contained propionic acid, a corrosive material used for a variety of purposes, the statement said. No injuries or evacuations were reported.

CSX said it was working with environmental officials.
