A man described as small is on the loose after robbing a Palm Desert Circle K store at the stroke of midnight.

According to Riverside County Sheriff Spokesperson Deputy Angel Ramos, they got the call from the store just after midnight Tuesday.  The clerk told them a man with a gun had just robbed the store, located on the 45-200 block of Portola Avenue in Palm Desert.

"The suspect was armed but did not fire a shot during the robbery and the clerk was uninjured" said Ramos.

The suspect is described as a Hispanic male, in his 20's, 5 feet tall, 100 pounds, wearing a bandana covering his face and a hat.

The suspect left on foot with an undisclosed amount of cash.
