Accident shuts down Highway 111 this morning between Jefferson and Madison

Seven cars were involved in an accident around 10:30 this morning that shut down the eastbound side of Highway 111.

Four people were transported to the hospital, their injuries are unknown.

Four of the cars were able to drive away. The other three were towed.

The road was opened once the remaining were towed and the road cleared.

The cause of the accident is under investigation.
