Suns Take On Dallas Mavericks At Indian Wells Tennis Garden, Oct. 9

The Phoenix Suns basketball team takes center court on Saturday, October 9, 2010, for another outdoor exhibition game to be held in the Indian Wells Tennis Garden.The Suns will play against the Dallas Mavericks. Game begins at 6:30 p.m.This is the Suns' third outdoor game. On October 11, 2008, the NBA hosted the first outdoor game of the modern era which featured a preseason showcase between the Suns and the Denver Nuggets. The sold out event saw the Nuggets outlast the Suns, 77-72.The Golden State Warriors defeated the Suns 104-101 in the second outdoor game which was held on October 10, 2009.Prior to the 2008 historical outdoor match-up, the Suns also played in the only other NBA game to be played outdoors in Puerto Rico against the Milwaukee Bucks over 35 years ago. Led by Connie Hawkins, Dick Van Arsdale and Neal Walk, the Suns defeated Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Oscar Robertson and the Bucks, 116-103, in a preseason game on September 24, 1972, at a baseball stadium in San Juan.Tickets for this year's game are on sale online at Ticketmaster, The Suns, all Ticketmaster outlets, and at the Indian Wells Tennis Garden box office.
