INDIO -- Fantasy Springs Resort Casino in Indio is in the midst of filling about 50 jobs, mostly to staff a soon-to-open restaurant and a remodeled bar, a spokeswoman said today.Lit, a bar/lounge, will be open from 6 a.m. to 1:30 a.m. daily, starting Friday, said casino spokeswoman Ciara Green. A grand reopening is expected in September, the same month that an Asian-style restaurant called Joy is expected to open at the casino. "The public still wants to go out and enjoy themselves, enjoy some entertainment," Green said. "They are still spending some and doing things that don't cost as much." Twenty people were hired to operate the remodeled bar, and a few positions still need to be filled, she said. There are around 30 full-time openings for the restaurant, and an additional 20 positions are available for various positions throughout the resort, including management posts, accounting and security jobs, according to Green. Fantasy Springs operators have been periodically hiring throughout the economic slowdown, she noted.
