INDIO, Calif. -

The 21st Valleywide Employment Expo was held Thursday with thousands of job seekers attending the event at the Riverside County Fairgrounds in Indio. NewsChannel 3 and CBS Local 2 are sponsors of this event.

According to staff with the Riverside County Economic Development Agency, over 2,000 people showed up to the event and over 90 companies had booths there. Many of the companies were based in the Coachella Valley. About 75 people showed up to a session of a pre-expo workshop a week before.

The event attracted a wide variety of job seekers from those who had experience and were looking to move up to those looking to get their foot in the door with their very first job.

Staff at the agency said the event was deemed a success and looked forward to next year.
