Deadliest plane crashes in history

Authorities say a commercial airline with 150 people on board crashed in the French Alps on Tuesday. Take a look at the deadliest plane crashes in history.

November 12, 2001 -- American Airlines Flight 587, an Airbus A300, crashes in Belle Harbor, Queens, shortly after takeoff from JFK Airport, killing 265 people, including five on the ground. This is the second largest number of fatalities from an accident involving a U.S. carrier.
