Authorities say a commercial airline with 150 people on board crashed in the French Alps on Tuesday. Take a look at the deadliest plane crashes in history.

September 2, 1998 -- Swissair Flight 111 crashes off Nova Scotia, Canada, killing 229. Investigators believe the plane, a McDonnell Douglas MD-11, lost all electrical power immediately before the crash. Here, the aircraft involved in the accident is seen at Zurich Airport in July 1998, two months before the crash.
