INDIO, Calif. -

Two men were arrested while police served search warrants to find the person who killed 20-year-old Juan Carlos Hernandez. Police said the two arrests were made on unrelated charges and the homicide suspect is still at large.

According to the Indio Police Department, 21-year-old Edgar Machado and 22-year-old Rick Jaime were both taken into custody Thursday morning while police conducted sweeps in Indio and Thousand Palms.

Machado was charged with violating his probation and Jaime was arrested on a weapons violation charge, according to police spokesman Dan Marshall.

The search warrants were in effort to track down the person who killed Juan Carlos Hernandez in Indio on June 16. Hernandez was gunned down as he sat in his vehicle in the Lancer Gate neighborhood near Monroe Street and Miles Avenue.
