1943: Actor Robert De Niro, known for movies such as "Mean Streets," "The Godfather Part II," "Taxi Driver," "The Deer Hunter," "Goodfellas," "Raging Bull" and "Meet the Parents," is born in New York City. De Niro won Academy Awards for his roles in "The Godfather Part II" and "Raging Bull" and has been nominated another five times.
