1933: Actor and comedian Dom DeLuise is born in Brooklyn, N.Y. He is best known for starring in a number of movies directed by Mel Brooks, including "Silent Movie" and "History of the World, Part I," and alongside his career-long friend Burt Reynolds in movies like "The Cannonball Run" (pictured), "Smokey and the Bandit II" and "The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas." He was also known as a voice actor in various animated films by Don Bluth, playing major roles in "The Secret of NIMH," "An American Tail" and "All Dogs Go to Heaven."
