1977: The disaster film "Airport '77," starring an ensemble cast including Jack Lemmon, James Stewart, Joseph Cotten, Christopher Lee and Olivia de Havilland, premieres in theaters. The second sequel in the "Airport" franchise, the movie continued the box office success of the series, earning $30 million, and earned two Academy Award nominations for Best Art Direction and Best Costume Design.
