1924: Actor Lee Marvin, best known for his roles in movies such as "The Man Who Shot Liberty Valance," "Donovan's Reef," "The Killers," "Cat Ballou," "The Professionals" and "The Dirty Dozen," is born in New York City. Marvin won an Academy Award for Best Actor in 1966 for his dual roles in "Cat Ballou."
