1921: Actress Lana Turner, best known for movies such as "Ziegfeld Girl," "Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde," "The Postman Always Rings Twice," "The Bad and the Beautiful" and "Peyton Place," is born Julia Jean Turner in Wallace, Idaho. Turner was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Actress for "Peyton Place" in 1958.
