1914: Actor Richard Widmark, who was nominated for an Academy Award for his debut movie role in 1947's "Kiss of Death," is born in Sunrise Township, Minn. He's also known for his roles in movies such as "Panic in the Streets," "Night and the City," "No Way Out," "The Alamo," "Judgment at Nuremberg" and "How the West Was Won."
