1962: The movie adaptation of the book "To Kill a Mockingbird," starring Gregory Peck and Robert Duvall, premieres in Los Angeles, Calif. The film would go on to earn eight Academy Award nominations, including Best Picture, Best Director and Best Cinematography, winning three: Best Actor for Peck, Best Art Direction and Best Adapted Screenplay.
