2009: Director James Cameron's 3-D sci-fi film epic "Avatar" has its world premiere in London. The movie would go on to earn $2.7 billion, becoming the highest-grossing film of all time, surpassing Cameron's "Titanic," which had held the records for 12 years. It would also be nominated for nine Academy Awards, including Best Picture and Best Director, and win three, for Best Cinematography, Best Visual Effects and Best Art Direction.
