1956: Guitarist Randy Rhoads, best known for playing with Ozzy Osbourne and Quiet Riot, is born in Santa Monica, Calif. Rhoads work included performing on Osbourne's first two albums, 1980's "Blizzard of Ozz" and 1981's "Diary of a Madman," before dying in a plane crash at the age of 25 in March 1982.
