1974: After 45 episodes over five years, the sketch comedy series "Monty Python's Flying Circus" airs for the last time on the BBC. The show, which made Graham Chapman, John Cleese, Terry Gilliam, Eric Idle, Terry Jones and Michael Palin famous, originally premiered on Oct. 5, 1969.
