2000: Rapper Joe C., best known as Kid Rock's hype man and sidekick, dies in his sleep at the age of 26 in Taylor, Mich. The rapper, whose real name was Joseph Calleja, had been born with celiac disease, an autoimmune disease that may cause stunting and dwarfism and some complications in rare cases.
