Oct. 2, 2006: A gunman took a group of girls hostage at West Nickel Mines School, a one-room Amish schoolhouse in Pennsylvania’s Lancaster County. He killed five girls, including two who died the next day. The shooter, Charles Carl Roberts IV, 32, killed himself.
