Alexandra Pierce is an Emmy Award winning journalist who joined the News Channel 3 & CBS Local 2 News teams in April 2015. She is the weekend morning anchor for KESQ and Eye on the Desert entertainment reporter who writes, shoots and edits her own stories.
Born and raised in the Midwest, Alexandra always hoped to one-day call the Golden State home. Prior to arriving in Palm Springs, she reported at KSBY-TV in San Luis Obispo, California. Now, Alexandra is happy to be back in the desert after interning with News Channel 3 & CBS Local 2 News the summer before her senior year of college.
Alexandra graduated from the Missouri School of Journalism in 2014 with a degree in broadcast journalism. Before leaving college she reported and anchored for KOMU-8 News, the NBC affiliate in Columbia, Missouri for three years.
As a self-proclaimed world traveler, her passion for travel began when she lived in London for six months. During her time in the U.K., Alexandra worked at MAMA Youth Project teaching at-risk teens how to create a variety show for Sky-TV, one of the U.K.'s largest networks. This program provided them with entry-level positions and full-time job security. Alexandra has traveled across Europe and Africa and soon hopes to check Thailand off her bucket list. She plans to continue to travel the world with her mother who also happens to be a travel agent.
Alexandra loves any excuse she has to dance. She has been dancing since she was three years old. She was a member of the University of Missouri's prestigious Golden Girl dance team. Most recently Alexandra was named first runner up in the 2016 Dancing with the Desert Stars competition, an event which raises money for the Desert Aids Project 100 Women. Alexandra loves attending dance conventions, taking Zumba or just hitting the dance floor with her friends.
When she's not reporting the news you can find Alexandra volunteering at Kittyland, cooking for friends, going on a run, watching the Harry Potter movies, eating too many sour patch watermelons, and singing to Beyonce songs when no one can hear. She is also a member of the Junior League of Palm Springs Desert Communities.
One of Alexandra's favorite parts of her job is that is allows her to meet new people. If you see her out on a story or eating at one of her favorite restaurants, don't hesitate to say hello!
