Start with your color scheme. Choose the palette you want, and decorating can go from there.

Put investment pieces front and center. It is okay to splurge on decorations now and then - make sure you display them so all can enjoy!

Create ceiling height with low furniture - great trick for apartments or basements that may have particularly low ceilings.

Give window trims a pop of color. Whether it be shades, blinds, or curtains, if you have a neutral room, spice it up with color in your window decor.

Create more space with mirrors. Not literal space, but adding mirrors to small rooms can create the feel of a larger space.

Mix instead of match. For pieces like tableware, mix the patterns in your dishes! There are plenty of options for fun designs in plates, glasses, and especially napkins. It's okay not to match!
