Sharp increase for Inland Empire gas price
Average price per gallon in Riverside County now at $3.91
The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in the Inland Empire recorded its largest daily increase since June 22 Wednesday, rising 2.1 cents to $3.914.
The average price in Riverside and San Bernardino counties has risen 11 times in 13 days, increasing 9.9 cents, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service.
The average price is 8.2 cents more than one week ago, but 2 cents less than one month ago and 22.7 cents below what it was one year ago, mainly thanks to a stretch of 29 decreases in 30 days that ended Aug. 30.
The rising pump prices are caused by increasing oil prices stemming from continued Middle East tension, according to Jeffrey Spring of the Automobile Club of Southern California.
