PALM SPRINGS, Calif. -

A male pedestrian suffered severe head trauma when he was hit by a Mercedes-Benz sedan type vehicle in front of Desert Regional Medical Center on Sunday night, according the the Palm Springs Police Department.

The vehicle stopped at the scene of the crash; there have been no arrests.

The victim was treated at DRMC.

The PSPD issued an advisory at 6:18 p.m. Sunday night for motorists to avoid north and southbound lanes of Indian Canyon Drive in front of Desert Regional Medical Center due to the accident.

All north and southbound lanes of Indian Canyon Drive were reopened to traffic early Monday morning.
