The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in the Inland Empire rose 1.1 cents Friday, the largest daily increase since Dec. 29.

The average price in Riverside and San Bernardino counties is $3.62, 2.2 cents more than one week ago but 6.4 cents less than one month ago and 43.6 cents below what it was one year ago, according to figures from the AAA and Oil  Price Information Service.

The average price has risen six times in the past eight days after dropping 21 of the previous 23 days.

The rising prices are the result of reduced gasoline production amid refinery maintenance, according to the Automobile Club of Southern California.
