The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in the Inland Empire fell 1.4 cents today to $3.946, the eighth consecutive decrease following a 10-day streak of rising prices.

The average price in Riverside and San Bernardino counties is 6 cents less than one week ago and 16.7 cents lower than one year ago but 11.9 cents more than one month ago, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service.

The dropping prices are the result of a resolution of supply issues that had caused the latest increases in prices, according to Marie Montgomery of  the Automobile Club of Southern California.
