More hot muggy weather is in store for Riverside County today as high pressure remains parked over Southern California, meteorologists said.
``High temperatures in the inland valleys will peak around or slightly above 100 degrees (through Saturday),'' according to the National Weather Service.
In the mountains and Coachella Valley, a chance of afternoon showers and thunderstorms will help moderate temperatures, but above-normal highs are still likely, the NWS said.
Little relief is expected overnight, with temperatures throughout the county dipping no lower than the 70s, according to the NWS.
``Needless to say, summer is not over,'' the NWS said, noting strenuous outdoor activities during the hottest parts of the day should be avoided.
