Woman in serious condition after being shot in Indio

Police have no motive for the shooting and believe the woman may be homeless

INDIO, Calif. -

Authorities are continuing to look for the suspect who shot a woman, believed to be homeless, in Indio.

Police were called to the intersection of Van Buren and Dr. Carreon Boulevard at around 7:30 p.m. Sunday. That's where they found a woman suffering from a gunshot wound to her lower body.

She was transported to a local hospital in serious condition.

Police have no motive for the shooting and no suspect description.

A dark-colored four door sedan, possible Chrysler PT Cruiser was last seen westbound on Dr. Carreon from Van Buren.
