PALM SPRINGS. Calif. -

Flights were delayed and operations at Palm Springs International Airport were put on hold for an hour yesterday after a man went past security without being screened.

The airport's executive director, Tom Nolan, said the man was detained and questioned after security breach occurred shortly before 1 p.m. Nolan said he was not arrested because investigators don't believe he had any malicious intent.

Some passengers who went through security screenings had to repeat the process after the breach.

At least five flights were delayed.
