CATHEDRAL CITY, Calif. -

A full freeway closure is planned for Thursday night at the Date Palm exit in Cathedral City, according to the California Highway Patrol.

It's happening from 8:00 p.m. until 4:00 a.m.

Crews will remove the scaffolding used to build the new bridge there.

Traffic will be detoured off Interstate 10 at Date Palm, using the on and off ramps. The overpass will also be closed to traffic.

Expect delays if you are in the area, avoid it if you can.

Here's some tips to get around the mess:

If you are heading west you'll want to get off at Bob Hope and take Ramon to Gene Autry Trail. Then take Gene Autry north to the freeway.

If you are heading east get off at Gene Autry heading south to Ramon. Then take Ramon over to Bob Hope.
