COACHELLA, Calif. -

A 19-year-old Coachella man was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs after his car crashed into another.

The white Honda Civic driven by Mario Zamora, 19, was eastbound on Avenue 48 when it crashed into another vehicle at Van Buren Street at 4:12 p.m. Sunday, said Coachella police Sgt. Robert Castro. Neither Zamora nor the occupants of the other vehicle were injured, he said.

"During the investigation, it was determined that Zamora showed signs of driving while impaired with alcohol and/or drugs," he said.

Zamora was arrested on suspicion of DUI and booked into the Riverside County Jail in Indio. Bail was set at $2,500 for each of two counts, according to the inmate information on the Riverside County Sheriff's website.
