Burglar targets Palm Desert Gucci store

Riverside County sheriff's deputies are looking for someone who stole merchandise from the Gucci store in Palm Desert, a sheriff's department spokesman said.

The suspect entered a rear door of the store, which is on the 73-000 block of El Paseo, just before 9:30 a.m. Saturday just before the store was opened.  He then made off with merchandise -- deputies won't say how much.

Investigators were reviewing surveillance video to try to identify the thief, Ramos said.

The sheriff's department asked anyone with information about the break-in to call the sheriff's Palm Desert office at 760-836-1660 or Crime Stoppers at 760-341-7867 to leave anonymous tips.
